From Rick & Mary

I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue...God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer.  Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!  Ps 66:17-20

  • By God's grace alone, Isabel's progress is simply amazing.  She continues to show good progress in her therapy sessions.  Speech is probably the most difficult which is understandable.
  • In physical therapy, they are concentrating on her using a walker with assistance.  She is doing well with this.  She walked over 350 feet today!
  • Today in occupational therapy we practiced transfers from wheelchair to our van for a possible outing this weekend.
  • She is able to feed herself and drink from a cup quite nicely.  Her appetite is better when we bring her homemade food.
  • We had as a family, our first dinner together in the cafeteria since the event (2 months to the date) with great thanksgiving and homemade chocolate pudding for dessert (Yum!).
  • They have stopped the midnight tube feeding (YEAH!) which allows less interruptions in the middle of the night.  She is getting more rest.
Prayers:
  • We have been at St. Mary's Rehab for a little over two weeks.  Our  insurance covers 60 days of inpatient and outpatient rehab.  So pray for wisdom for how this time will be spent to maximize Isabel's benefits.
  • For continued progress in walking and in clear thinking.
  • For healing of the tenderness in her legs.
