From Rick & Mary

All Praise and Glory to God our Father,
  • From the blood test on Wednesday, Isabel's white blood cell count was lower.  Hallelujah!
  • Isabel handled the transport from St Joseph's beautifully (thanks Kevin and Andrew, her EMT support).
  • I asked Isabel if she is praying to the LORD for strength and she nodded her head "yes".
  • She had a restful night.  It is great having Isabel so close to home.  Thank you, God!
  • Isabel has completed and passed her first day of three hours of therapy (one hour each of speech, occupational and physical therapies).  This is required six days a week with Saturdays off.
  • Dr. Nguyen (sounds like "Win"), who is the Medical Director of the Brain Injury Program at SSM (St Mary's) Rehab, stated after his meeting Isabel today, "Isabel's condition is very appropriate for the acute rehabilitation".  For him she held up two fingers upon request showing the ability to count.  He was not expecting her to be as far along as she is.
Prayers:
  • Isabel's strength will grow and she would be able to continue in this rigorious therapy program (BTW, the insurance is requiring daily reports and approving only one day at a time).
  • For Isabel's own reliance on the LORD.
  • As a family we discern what the LORD is teaching us about loving not only Isabel but one another thru this.
