Katie the nurse (she is a blessing to us & Isabel) told us this morning Isabel had a fabulous night.

Our daughter, Amanda, has had several shunt surgeries--the good news is this is a very routine surgery for a neurosurgeon. Amanda's last revision had a hospital stay of less than 24 hours---and they only cut out a patch of hair, so the site was easily hidden with a switch of her part!

The purpose of this blog is to provide a place for all of us who are interested in learning about our dear Isabel. In this space the family will post information as it becomes available or as conditions change. It will also be a primary channel by which they will be able to communicate their needs, share their hopes and burdens.

In addition to this blog, we've also created two separate online calendars as a means of coordinating the outpouring of help for Isabel and her family. The first calendar is the place where individuals can go to sign-up for visitations with Isabel. A second calendar has been established that is focused on coordinating support for Isabel's family in areas related to childcare, food preparation, transportation and home support.
