Isabel has continued to make progress. This morning the nurse was changing a dressing and Isabel reached her left hand across her body to essentially say, "Stop bothering me!". Also, she has noticed Isabel's hands will be in different positions and said unless we are playing tricks on her Isabel is the only one doing it! These are indications of higher level brain function and also indicate the coma is not as deep. She continues to maintain her body temperature and her pupils are active. The neurosurgeon admitted he is more hopeful than he had been!
We continue to place our hope solidly in the Son of the living God who has the words of eternal life-to whom else can we go?
Praise the Lord! God is so good!

ReplyDeleteLike everything else concerning human behavior, the path to recovery is never a straight line, but always characterized by little ups and downs. Let's be sure and hold each other accountable on those days when fear and doubt creep into our thinking and remind ourselves of this day!

"Thank you Jesus, for your unfailing strength and steadfast purpose in this world! Don't abandon us; don't take your Spirit from us! Without you, our faith is weak and our eyes grow dim and we forget that you are the Master of all! Amen."
